PWHS LENTEN RECOLLECTION THEME:

Consistent with its efforts to heed the exhortations of His Holiness, John Paul II to the bishops, clergy, and the faithful, the PWHS is sponsoring a Lenten Recollection, adopting the theme "STAY WITH US, LORD" (Luke 24:29).

In his apostolic letter MANE NOBISCUM DOMINE, His Holiness begins his letter with the persistent request of the two disciples on their way to EMMAUS: "Stay with us, Lord, for it is almost evening."
This setting serves as a fitting guide for the faithful to better appreciate the Year of the Eucharist (October 2004 to October 2005).
To continue with the story, the Lord accepted the invitation (this was the night of the day of His Resurrection), and "when He was at the table with them, He took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them." (Luke 24:30) His giving them the "Bread of Life", was our Lord’s response to the invitation of the two disciples, and the assurance that He will "be with us always to the end of the age" (Mt. 28:20).
All these will be further expounded upon by Fr. Jojo Zerrudo, Spiritual Director of the PWHS during the Lenten Recollection scheduled on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at the Worship Hall of the SPIRIT OF LOVE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY (SOLCC) at the Manila Seedling Bank Compound, Edsa, cor. Quezon Avenue.
Since it is also the feast day of St. Joseph, patron saint of departing souls and patron saint of a peaceful death, the mass for the day will be at 11:00 A.M. with an appropriate homily on St. Joseph.
See the Lenten Recollection Programme for more details.
