THE CORE GROUP of the PRAYER WARRIORS OF THE HOLY SOULS (PWHS) held its annual planning session last Feb. 18-19, 2005, at the BETANIA RETREAT HOUSE in Quezon City.

The two-day planning session started with a half-day session with Fr. Jojo Zerrudo, Spiritual Director of the PWHS, who primed the core group members with inspirational talks.

After undergoing brainstorming sessions, self-assessments, and pinpointing "key result areas", as facilitated by Dohdo Tanbonliong, one major item excited the core group members. And this was the "dream" as enunciated by Chita G. Monfort, Executive Director of the PWHS: That someday in the Lord’s time, propelled by the core group and members of the PWHS and with the powerful intercession of the holy souls, the PWHS will have its own CENTER FOR PRAYER. Here, round-the-clock prayers will be offered for the dear departed, a chapel will be available for any priest to say mass anytime of the day (or night) for the dear departed, and it will have facilities to offer solace and comfort to those who come in their hour of grief.

It was pointed out that the PWHS has been operating under the protective umbrella of the MONFORT FOUNDATION, INC., a privately funded foundation. The PWHS does not charge membership dues from its members, although some generous members give donations, and some really give generously! With a growing global membership of 16,000 plus, it is really a wonder how the Lord has provided this apostolate the means to continue to operate the way it has. The PWHS has five full-time staff, and 5 part-time support staff, all of whom are with financial compensation. The office operates like a regular office, responding to the needs of its membership and is open 6 days a week, 8 hours a day.

The PWHS has members in 41 countries, and in the Philippines, it has members in most provinces of the country.

It was felt during the planning session, that the best way to make the dream a reality was to share the dream with the members and get reactions (and donations?) from them. The "need list" includes land on which the center will be built, funds, and lots of prayers!

The PWHS recently received from an anonymous donor, the sum of P500,000 (aprox. US$9,350) to start the PWHS CENTER FOR PRAYER FUND. Donations may be coursed thru the PWHS or MONFORT FOUNDATIONS, INC.

Write us (P.O. Box 220, Greenhills, Philippines), e-mail us (info@pwhs-mfi.org ) or text us (PWHS Hotline Text/SMS 0918-9290603) and give us your reactions on this "shared dream". Your donations are most welcome!
