With words of encouragement from the Association of the Holy Souls
Letters from Anne Halohan of Australia is reproduced here to show how linkages amongst people from different nations sharing a common concern for the holy souls are made possible.

Anne wrote to Prayer Warriors of the Holy Souls (PWHS) as follows: "Recently, I wrote to a Monastery in Portugal about information concerning joining other souls praying for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. I have been praying for them for quite a number of years now, and they in turn have interceded for me on a number of occasions.
I would like to join your association. Please forward to me information and accept me as one who has devotion to pray for them."
Anne shared in her letter to PWHS, two letters:
One was a short note from the Mother Prioress of the Monastery Pius XII based in Fatima, Portugal. The said monastery is the headquarters of the ASSOCIATION OF THE HOLY SOULS. The note said:
Dear Anne,
Please write to the above address (referring to the address of PWHS); they will be pleased to enroll you in the Association of the Holy Souls in the Philippines (known as PWHS or PRAYER WARRIORS of the HOLY SOULS. ED).
The other letter shared by Anne was a letter again from "Mother Prioress and Sisters" of the Monastery Pius XII, presumed to be addressed to interested persons who correspond with them with the intent of enrolling as members in the Association of the Holy Souls.
The letter contains wonderful words of encouragement suitable for prospective members and existing members of the PWHS not only in Asia, Europe and Australia, but also in North America, South America, and Africa. The letter goes:
Dear friend of the Holy Souls,
"Thank you for your letter inquiring about the ASSOCIATION OF THE HOLY SOULS. God bless you for your interest in and desire to help all the suffering souls in Purgatory. Though we continue to enroll members in the Association, we encourage you to try to work for the Holy Souls in your own Diocese.
As much as possible, according to your means and state in life, we suggest that you:
1) Request Holy Mass to be offered in your Parish or another Church for the relief of the Holy Souls;
2) Assist at Holy Mass with the intention of relieving their suffering;
3) Pray for the Holy Souls – especially the prayer of the Rosary;
4) Remind and encourage others to pray for the suffering souls;
We believe, according to the Church’s teaching, that Purgatory is a place of purification. It is a place where the soul is perfected in charity in order to be worthy to enter into eternal union with God, Who is Love. As you pray for the Holy Souls, ask them to help you to grow in charity – love of
God and your neighbor.
Finally, we ask you to remember in prayer those who are dying so that every grace they need will be granted, especially to those who may have despaired of God’s love and mercy.
In your kindness, please pardon any delay in our reply to your letter. We assure you and all your loved ones in remembrance in the prayers of our Community, particularly the prayer of the Rosary."
Very gratefully in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Mother Prioress and Sisters
It is very encouraging for the PWHS to be singled out by the ASSOCIATION OF THE HOLY SOULS and to be accorded such distinction as to be endorsed to prospective members from different parts of the world. PWHS now has 59,053 members in 53 countries in six continents. (see related story)
The Mother Prioress has correctly emphasized the need for mass and rosaries as essential tools for the relief of the suffering of the holy souls. The Monastery Pius XII also propagates the praying of the Rosary aside from taking care of the ASSOCIATION OF THE HOLY SOULS.
