Why Are People Attracted To The Occult?

 

1. Curiosity about the supernatural,

2. Superstition,

3. Loneliness,

4. A desire to look into the future,

5. The longing of a grieving person to contact deceased loved ones,

6. A disillusionment and dissatisfaction with the traditional religious forms,

7. And a desire to develop what an individual perceives are latent psychic powers.

 

The occult represents the spiritual realm where people seek either knowledge or power from any source other than God, when the kind of knowledge or power sought can come only from God.

When we seek them, even when we do not realize what we are doing, we enter into the realm of the evil spirits.

The vast majority of people who get involved in the occult do not realize they are doing anything wrong.

Some people seek knowledge and are often hooked by curiosity. Parents may want to know if their son who committed suicide is happy in the afterlife - a very human question.

Their desire is not to connect with Satan; it is to connect with their son. But in seeking this forbidden knowledge through Ouija board, spirit of the glass, séance or medium, they open themselves to demonic influence.

There is a serious involvement when a person contacts the realm of Satan directly and knowingly in order to gain power or knowledge.

Some teenagers who get involved as individuals or small groups simply read about Satanism, decide it is exciting and find out how to hold meetings and cast spells by reading a how-to-do-it yourself manuals.

Higher up in their seriousness and involvement are organized covens under the leadership of witches and warlocks.

More serious are those professional people who seek power in their careers and in government circles.

Lower down are the groups involved in the messy animal sacrifice, desecrate churches, perpetrate grosser crimes.

Few know who they are. Often they are descendants of families that have long been given over to Satan.

A WORD OF WARNING

 

The occult is not to be taken lightly or dabbled with as a harmless pastime. It is a dimension which can usher even the causal participant into direct contact with satanic forces.

The realm of the occult is often a subtle gateway which leads to demonic influence, manipulation, deception, oppression, and even possession. Playing around the occult can lead to serious repercussions, both psychologically and spiritually.

"When you come into the land which the Lord, your God, is giving you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of the peoples there. Let there not be found among you anyone who immolates his son or daughter in the fire, nor a fortune-teller, soothsayer, charmer, diviner, or caster of spells, nor one who consults ghosts and spirits or seeks oracles from the dead… The Lord, your God, will not permit you to do so."

Serious Consequences of the Occult

 

1. Involvement in any form of the occult, from Satan worship to astrology, will have serious consequences within the family tree.

2. Demonic forces may superimpose on every dimension of human personality, and thus be "transmitted" hereditarily by re-implanting themselves in succeeding generations.

3. The most tenacious disorders transmitted demonically are those that result from the sins of occultism practiced by the ancestors.

4. The sins of occultism result in the form of manic personality types, melancholic dispositions, incurable psychoses, addictions to drugs or alcohol, etc.

5. Many people suffer physical, emotional and spiritual oppression as a result of occult activity.

6. This oppression can occur as a result of personal involvement in the occult or involvement of family members in previous times.

1) First, the spiritual life is affected .

2) Second, the area in human life that is affected by the subjection to the occult is the character of the person concerned .

3) Third, the characteristic resulting from occult oppression is seen in the frequent presence of depression or melancholia, which often occurs immediately before or after a conversion to Christ as the person turns from the occultic bondage.

4) Fourth, the persons involved in witchcraft or occultism of any kind are far more prone to mental illness, as also their offspring.

5) Fifth, the area in which the disturbance is manifested for those involved in the occult is in the development of mediumistic abilities.

1) Repentance. Go to confession. Be reconciled with God.

2) Renounce all practices and involvement with the occult.

3) Destroy all occult objects, books, charms…

4) Prayer to cut links with persons you’re involved with.

5) Prayer for cleansing.

6) Receive the deliverance ministry.

7) Renew baptismal promises.

8) Pray for in-filling of the Holy Spirit.

Ex 20:5-6: "For I, the Lord, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishment for their fathers’ wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation; but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation, on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments."

 

Objectives Of Healing of the Family Tree

 

1. An opportunity to recognize and bring healing to family influences from the past, with the implications for the future.

2. To clean up the effects in our lives and the lives of our loved ones; not to simply look at our own ailments that need healing now, but the healing of the entire family tree.

3. As we are healed and our family is healed, our living members are integrated more in charity; deceased persons in our family attain a closer union with Christ.

 

We need not live under a curse. When persons give their lives over to God and repudiate the sin in their lives, they can dispose God to break that curse.

It is the kind of love for God that can break the transmission of disease, neurosis, and reverse the process by giving blessings.

As a result, thousands of our descendants are blessed when we decide to live Godly lives.
