The prayer of St. Gertrude, which is said to release 1,000 souls each time it is prayed was launched at the 1st National Congress of the PWHS as the "8 o’clock evening prayer" that all members of the PWHS should pray everyday.
It goes like this:
Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious Blood of Jesus with all the masses being said this day all over the world, for the souls in Purgatory, for the sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
Plans are afoot to look for radio and TV stations that would be willing to insert the prayer at 8:00 p.m. every evening in their program.
In the meantime, PWHS members are enjoined to say this 8 o’clock evening prayer preferably with their family members.
It is of course ideal that we say this prayer whenever we have the time to do so.
